Jay Sandler's Tiger Beetles

Insects are arguably one of the most overlooked groups in the natural world today. To shed light on their values, contributions, and threats, Jay Sandler, a University of Vermont sophomore in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, has depicted the three threatened Tiger Beetles of the state of Vermont. These specimens are the Hairy-necked Tiger Beetle (Cicindela hirticollis), the Cobblestone Tiger Beetle (Cicindela marginipennis), and the Puritan Tiger Beetle (Ellipsoptera puritana).
